Australian Graphic Designer’s Association(AGDA) make a survey and ask the general public on the street “What is graphic design?“ , “Do you know any graphic designers?” , “What does a graphic designer look like?” , “Any advice or tips for a graphic designer?” If you search on google What is graphic design? , you will get many answers.

 

So, What is Graphic Design?

 

Wikipedia: Graphic designs are the process of communication through the use of images and typography to present information .Graphic designers use symbols, images, text typography, visual ads, and page layout techniques to create visual compositions. Brand identity designs( logo and branding), magazine, books, newspaper, product packaging, advertising, web designs all include using graphic designs. 

 

Treefrog: Graphic design is art with a purpose. It involves a creative and systematic plan to solve a problem or achieve certain objectives, with the use of images, symbols or even words. It is visual communication and the aesthetic expression of concepts and ideas using various graphic elements and tools. 

 

Interaction-design: Graphic design is the craft of creating visual content to communicate messages. Applying visual hierarchy and page layout techniques, graphic designers use typography and pictures to meet users’ specific needs and focus on the logic of displaying elements in interactive designs to optimize the user experience.
